Three Days of Never-Ending Fun in Nashville

Posted on Dec 27, 2016

Nashville: Home to music legends, museums and mighty-fine meals. Southern hospitality is never in short supply in Music City, and neither are things to do. With so many exciting attractions to choose from, you’ll want to make sure you squeeze in all of the high notes. Take advantage of Vacations by Marriott’s Nashville travel packages and get ready for a new song and dance with four days of fun in this spirited Southern city.

Day One: Welcome to Music City! You’ve touched down at the Nashville International Airport (BNA) and you are ready for three fantastic days of music, meals, and memories. Since you only have a long weekend you know you will have to pack a lot of action into a short amount of time. Get ready to explore this cool city dawn to dusk! For this trip, you’ll be staying at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, located right in the middle of downtown. Your first stop this trip will be one of Nashville’s biggest attractions, The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Even if you’re not a huge fan of country music, this museum is a must-see destination for anyone touring the city. The museum features extensive musical history, information, and items so you can spend hours poking around. After the museum and hall of fame, it’s time to have your first big Nashville meal. Nashville is an up-and-coming Foodie city so there are tons of options to choose from. A friend recommends Husk so you decide to head there and enjoy their creative meals inspired by local products as you soak in the ambiance of the restaurant’s historical mansion setting.

Day Two: You only have two days left in Nashville and know you have to make the most of it. You wake up early and head to the world renowned Grand Ole Opry. You take a tour that guides you through the entire theatre including dressing rooms, backstage, and even a rare chance to stand right in the middle of the stage. You stand in the very spot where so many country music legends have stood before! You couldn’t fit a show at the Opry into your trip, but exploring the inner workings of country music’s most famous and premier stage is awe inspiring. You decide on something totally different for your next stop: a tour of the Belle Meade Plantation. You start your visit with lunch at the restaurant on the grounds and then join a tour of the house. Your tour guide is knowledgeable and well versed in the history of the house and time period, as well as dressed in historical period attire. After getting a great dose of history, you decide to head downtown and explore more modern-day Nashville. You poke your head in a couple stores, listen to some live music and grab dinner and drinks. What a fun city!

Day Three: Noted as the most beautiful park in all of Nashville, you start your day today at Centennial Park. You walk around taking in the sights and sounds of this bustling Nashville favorite and eventually find yourself in front of the Greek Parthenon replica. Inside the Parthenon is a small museum and a huge statue of the Greek goddess Athena, so you poke around the exhibits after taking tons of pictures outside. Since you’re right across Vanderbilt University, you decide after lunch to spend some time walking around the beautiful campus. Your next stop after Vanderbilt is an attraction that visitors have called “a hidden gem” and “breathtaking”: the Fontanel Mansion, which also happens to be the largest log cabin in the world. Everything on the tour is interactive, so feel free to lay on the bed or pick up the guitar and really enjoy yourself. After your tour, you know you have to spend your last few hours in downtown Nashville enjoying as much live music as you can, so you head that way for more entertainment and delicious food. You pick Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint, run by award-winning pit master Pat Martin, for your final meal as the restaurant is been dubbed a “temple of smoked meats.” After your delicious meal and some more live music, you head back to the hotel to head to sleep for your early flight in the morning. You cannot wait to come back to Nashville to explore everything else this cool city has to offer!
