Whatever your pleasure, there are plenty of both land and water activities to keep you busy. Make memories with Vacations by Marriott and take advantage of huge savings on our Florida vacation deals. Enjoy your time in the Sunshine State!

Day One: You touch down at Southwest Florida International Airport, gather the luggage and pick up a convertible rental car from Hertz, then throw the top down and head south to Marco Island and the Marco Island Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa. You make your way upstairs to your room, open the slider and step out onto the balcony for a stunning view of the Gulf of Mexico and the wide, white sand beach just below. A few minutes later, your toes are in that sand beneath a palapa, and for the first time all day you can truly relax. Later, after the sun sets, you meet up with a guide from Kayak Marco Island and set off on a kayak tour by moonlight. The water is calm, the evening air is warm and balmy, and the mood among your group is enthusiastic. And why not, you’re on vacation! The paddle ends at a local restaurant, where you join new friends to enjoy some food and drinks. It’s a fantastic end to your first day on the island, and sleep comes easily tonight.

Day Two: This morning you hop on a shuttle for a short drive to The Rookery at Marco, where 18 holes of golf await. The course is beautiful, with manicured fairways and fast greens, and at more than 7,100 total yards in length, a definite challenge. The Rookery means bird sanctuary, and the surrounding lakes and ponds are home to abundant wildlife, including bald eagles, gators, blue herons and many other types of water birds. After a memorable round, you enjoy lunch at The Rookery Grill, then head back to the resort in time for your appointment at The Spa at Marco Island Marriott. You’ve opted for a Balinese massage for two, which actually draws on modalities from around the world. For more than an hour, the therapists weave an intricate, choreographed massage that energizes and soothes. The session includes aromatic Balinese essential oils and an exfoliating back scrub. You’re left feeling smooth and absolutely relaxed. So refreshing.

Day Three: You’re up early and excited to meet up with Captain Dustin for some waterskiing. It’s been a while since your last time on a waterski, so the quick review of the steps required to get back up and skiing are appreciated, and after just a couple of attempts, you’re up out of the water and carving some casual turns behind the ski boat. The crew snaps a couple of pics of your experience, which you’ll upload to Facebook, just to make your friends back home a bit jealous! A little later, after you’ve returned to the resort for lunch at Quinn’s on the Beach, you head over to Marco Island Watersports and within a few minutes have arranged a parasailing ride. You launch safely from the back of the specially-equipped boat, and are soon flying high above the beautiful waters off Florida’s Gulf Coast. The views are amazing, with multiple islands spread out below. This trip has been non-stop fun – with more to come.

Day Four: Today will be your final full day on Marco Island, and you’ll be hooking up with the guys from Full Throttle Waverunner Adventures for a wild, high-speed trip. You hop aboard the high-performance personal watercraft and are soon off and running at breathtaking speeds, as you take to the waters off Marco Island and Goodland to see the “Ten Thousand Islands” like a local. Wildlife abounds in these waters, and you’re particularly excited to throttle down for a few moments for an up-close view of a few dolphins. It’s an amazing ride – so exhilarating that you feel the need to slow things way down and partake in another Marco Island favorite: “shelling.” This area’s white sand beaches are legendary, and as the tides come and go, they leave behind little treasures. You stroll along and find a pair of interesting sea shells, which you later clean and store as little keepsakes from your visit, which has been nothing short of fantastic.
