Family Spring Break Vacations

With winter coming to an end and warmer weather heading our way, that means spring break is just around the corner.

In most situations, springtime is great for family vacations because it works well with everyone’s schedules, and tourist attractions aren’t nearly as packed as they are during those hectic summer months. And, depending on where you decide to visit, the weather can be almost perfect during spring break. The departure of winter rids the area of any cold fronts, but the heat of summer hasn’t yet arrived to make a vacation unbearable. Before spring break gets here, check out our list of destinations around the world that are perfect for the entire family.

Orlando, Florida

When you hear the words, “spring break,” images of Orlando probably come to mind. It’s scientifically proven. Okay, maybe not scientifically, but AAA said that Orlando was the no. 1 spring break destination of 2018. Whether traveling with college-age kids or younger children, Orlando has something from everyone. From outdoor concerts to pro-baseball games, your biggest issue will be deciding on what your family wants to do. For more mature travelers, several spas with beautiful landscapes are featured within the city and are readily accessible. Parents and children can make memories that last a lifetime with the various theme parks located within the city. The Walt Disney World® Resort, SeaWorld® Orlando and Universal Orlando Resort™ are just some of the few theme parks that call Orlando home. After thrill rides and character meets, fill your love of culture and art by visiting the series of museums offered in the city including Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens and Orlando Museum of Art. Whether you and your family are here for theme parks or to just soak up some of that Floridian sunshine, Orlando will fulfill all your spring break dreams. Whether you’ll be staying on a resort or at a hotel, Hawaii has plenty to offer families during spring break. Oahu is Hawaii’s third largest island and has a mix of beautiful beaches, bustling metropolitan cities and oasis-like destinations to visit. Spend the day on the beach, learn to surf and unwind in true Hawaiian fashion. After a relaxing day, enter the city and enjoy a delightful dinner at one of the many local restaurants. If you time your trip between the months of March and April, you can attend a variety of local festivals and events including the awe-inspiring Cherry Blossom Festival. Your vacation doesn’t have to be secluded to the beaches and cities, you and your family can also swim with dolphins, go on an outdoor excursion in Kualoa Ranch and visit the various animals at Honolulu Zoo. As the sun sets on your evenings in paradise, boost your excitement level by attending a Luau. The traditional Hawaiian feast is often family friendly and offers a blend of entertainment and dining. Enjoy local cuisine such as Kalua pig and poi as traditional Hawaiian music accompanies your meal. The entertainment is in full force during a luau, and you may catch performances of hula dancing and fire dancing while you dine. So, pack your bags and make this spring break an island getaway.
