The Caribbean calls! This week we're traveling to the warm waters and beautiful beaches for a St. Kitts Vacation.

Day 1: You land in St. Kitts, pick up your luggage and head to your home base for the next several days: the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino, an ideal place to soak in the culture and atmosphere on this most relaxing and romantic of Caribbean islands. Head out onto the beach with a cool drink in hand to soak up some rays, then get ready for a seafood dinner at Blu. The panorama is pretty incredible here – 180 degrees of ocean views stretched out before your eyes. Then, as darkness falls, make your way to the Royal Beach Casino. With hundreds of slot machines, plus blackjack, craps, roulette and poker games, the casino is an ideal place to let loose and celebrate your arrival on the island. It’s going to be a blissful visit.

Day 2: It’s your first full day on St. Kitts and you’re excited to get into the water! You begin with an hour in an ocean kayak, launching from a secluded beach and enjoying a relaxing paddle around the shallow Caribbean waters. As you paddle past Pelican Rocks, you stop to watch the pelicans dive for fish. Sip some local fruit punch on the beach, and then wade back out into the water for a little snorkeling. As you make your way through the water, you keep an eye out for Yellow Tangs, Damselfish and wrasses. Other sea life abounds as well, including Hawksbill turtles. You’ve now worked up an appetite, and after experiencing the beautiful undersea world, you head back to the beach for some snacks and relaxation. You are on vacation after all!

Day 3: You’re up early and ready for some island-hopping. The nearby island of Nevis (45 minutes by ferry from St. Kitts) is known as the "Queen of the Caribees," and you’re anxious to see sights like the Old Bath House - famous for its thermal bath spring – and attractions like the Museum of Nevis, which enables you to learn about the history of Nevis and the life of Alexander Hamilton, who was born on the island and became one of the founding fathers of the United States. Explore the rainforests and beaches that surround Nevis Peak, a dormant volcano, and check out the Botanical Gardens of Nevis, with its fountains, conservatory and Mayan-inspired sculptures. And don’t forget to do a little shopping before boarding the ferry to St. Kitts.

Day 4: Today you’ll be picked up in the morning for an off-road ATV adventure. Zoom around the sugar cane fields and rolling hills of St Kitts and discover parts of the volcanic island that are hard to reach in larger vehicles. You pass by historic sites such as an old sugar plantation and a rum-making building as you learn about some of the history of the island from your guide. Visit the Wingfield Estate, then make a stop at Caribelle Batik, within the estate's grounds, to browse a shop that produces handcrafted batik fabric in vibrant colors and designs. Wash off the dust from the fun morning with a visit to Cockleshell Beach for some swimming and a little more work on your tan. It’s been a great trip, and you didn’t even have a chance to play a round of golf or try the zip line. Oh well, next visit!
