Experience a variety of exciting and delicious restaurants a short distance from Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown. From New Canadian cuisine to a taste from the West Coast, steakhouses and everything in between, Vacations by Marriott has a list of suggestions for you to help make the most of your trip!

The Flying Pig
Cuisine: New Canadian If you’re not a huge pork fan, do not let this restaurant’s name scare you off; although the Flying Pig does offer select pork dishes, that is by no means the theme of the restaurant. The Flying Pig us a self-dubbed “nouveau Canadian Bistro,” the restaurant offers a simple and seasonally inspired menu featuring fresh and local ingredients. With three locations throughout Vancouver, the closest one to the hotel is about a 15-minute walk away. Entrees range from pasta dishes (Wild Seafood Papardelle & Baked Mushroom Gnocchi) to fish (Blackened Steelhead Trout & Pan Seared Haida Gwaii Halibut) to a variety of meat mains (Red Wine Braised Beef Short Rib & Maple and Mustard Crusted Pork Rack). With a wide variety of exciting sides (Crispy Brussel Sprouts & Bone Marrow Cheezy Bread) and enticing apps (Three Pea Soup & BC Salmon Sampler) Flying Pig is sure to please those looking to experience New Canadian cuisine.

Showcase Restaurant and Bar
Cuisine: West Coast

Diners report that Showcase is one of the best hotel restaurants they have ever dined at, and thankfully it’s located right in the Marriott. Showcase says its menu is a “reflection of Vancouver’s ethnicity with a diverse mix of flavours, influences and inspirations,” and even just glancing at the menu will have anyone agreeing with that statement. With nearly 50 items on the menu, Showcase has virtually everything covered, from Pacific Northwest favorites to Asian fusion. Order whatever you are in the mood for, but standouts include: Korean Fried Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Grilled Octopus, Warm Spinach and Smoke Bacon Salad, Cajun Chicken Sandwich, Prawn and Clam Linguini and the Showcase Tacos. Good luck deciding what to order because this is one fantastic menu and the food is guaranteed to be great!

Black + Blue
Cuisine: Steakhouse

Although Vancouver might be better known for its seafood, there are plenty of other great dining options, such as Black + Blue one of the city’s favorite steakhouses. This is not just a traditional steakhouse and the restaurant’s third floor outdoor restaurant called The Roof proves that. The Roof is Vancouver’s largest rooftop dining destination and offers the full menu as the main indoor restaurant. So of course you go to Black + Blue for the steak, but you have to start the meal off with something and besides a drink, favorite appetizers to indulge on include, Oysters Rockefeller, Crispy Calamari, and baked-to-order bread. The steak offerings are proudly displayed in the center of the dining room, so go take a look before you place an order for traditional beef cuts as well as Canadian prime and Japanese Waygu. For non-steak lovers, there are a variety of other entrees as well as nearly a dozen assorted sides. Black + Blue is a 6-minute walk from the hotel, although you’ll probably be rolling back after this meal!

Cardero’s Restaurant
Cuisine: Seafood

You cannot visit Vancouver without enjoying seafood by the waterfront, and Cardero’s is the place to do it. Located in one of the most beautiful spots in Vancouver, Cardero’s is right in the heart of the Coal Harbour Marina and is surrounded by boats, so make sure you sit on the patio (and make a reservation to secure your spot)! Cardero’s menu is a massive three-pages long and has nearly every seafood and even non-seafood staple that you could think of. Dinner love the grilled scallops, the sablefish, oysters, salmon and assorted pizzas. Good food, accompanied by awesome service and a picture-perfect waterfront view makes Cardero’s a perfect choice for any meal.

Cuisine: French Bakery

Thierry is only 5 minutes from the hotel and is a must-try stop for an after-lunch, after-dinner or breakfast treat. Voted “best desserts” and “best pastries” in Vancouver, as you enter Thierry prepare yourself for beautiful display cases of macarons, petits fours, and tarts galore, plus any other pastry or sweet treat that you could imagine. Make sure you have your camera ready to go, because this is an experience you are going to want to Instagram. Whether grabbing something on the go or sitting down for a late night pastry and coffee on the patio, you are guaranteed to leave Thierry with a satisfied sweet tooth!
